Living Edge Magazine Cover Design by Shabs Beigh

I was interviewed by Living Edge magazine a few months ago, and afterwards the editor asked if I would consider designing the front cover for the December issue. I was really honoured, and wanted to capture the theme of Christmas in my own unique style.
The artwork ‘Reindeer, 2021’ was completed on an iPad pro using Apple pencil. I often go for walks to Dunham Massey in Cheshire. Over winter, the national trust organise an amazing Christmas themed light show with huge installations of stags and reindeer. I’ve done several artworks based stags and deer. Two of them — ‘Reindeer’ and ‘Blue Stag’ are both available to purchase as Christmas Cards.

I love doing artwork that’s outside of normal — most people think of art as a painting or drawing that is hung on a wall, but art is all around us. As well as this cover design, I’ve also designed a poster for a play that one of my actor friends was in, and I was commissioned to paint a mural in a garden. If anybody needs illustrations done for books or magazines, I would be happy to do them.
