Shabs Beigh: Exhibiting At The Other Art Fair, Saatchi in Dallas

On 12th — 15th May 2022, I will be exhibiting a selection of artworks from my Bulls & Bison collection at The Other Art Fair by Saatchi in Dallas, Texas.

This is the first time I’ve had the opportunity to exhibit in the last 2 years, and I’m very excited to be getting back to it. I’ve never been to Dallas, which makes this exhibition all the more thrilling.

Usually when I exhibit I show a variety of themes, but this time I’m taking a chance on bulls. Texas is famous for its ranches and love of animals, and I’m hoping that the Dallas audience will appreciate my own love for bulls, as reflected in these artworks.

I feel like the energy contained in myself is echoed in the bull — They are my spirit animal. The red bulls were inspired by a famous triptych by Francis Bacon who also used a scarlet red hue. The red bull artworks have a different characteristic to the other bull artworks that I’ve done — They feel more reflective, like the bulls themselves are contemplating their own lives. It makes me consider how they view the world.
